Students will gather research on an event of your choice from an important era in human history. Ss will then use this research to write from the perspective of a real or fictional character affected by this important era in human history.
Keep this piece of writing short. If it is a poem, it should be about 20-25 lines. If it is a narrative or dramatic monologue, focus on writing about 250 words. The focus in your writing should be on the following:
• Establishing a clear, authentic voice.
• Depicting historical events and people of the era accurately.
• Using imagery and description to appropriately relay the situation and the time period.
• Portraying a pivotal moment in the life of the narrator.
