PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This handout allows students to practice when to double a consonant when adding "ed" or "ing". First students will need to determine some common rules, for example a word with a single syllable word ends with a vowel followed by a consonant (VC) it doubles (clap - clapped). Students then can work independently, with a group, or individually, to come up with verbs, code them, and use the rules to think critically about whether to double the consonant or not. Great as individual practice, whole group, partners, assessment, or homework.
