This book companion is designed to accompany the book "Where Do Balloons Go?" By Jamie Lee Curtis. I have no affiliation with the author or this book. This book companion contains several activities to target a variety of language goals/objectives including; verb tense (present and past), answering WH questions, basic concepts (as many, same, different), comparing and contrasting, understanding and using adjectives/descriptors, pronouns,and following directions. There is also an open ended game board that can be used to target any speech/language goal/objective. In this packet you will find:
Page 1: Cover page
Page 2-4: Contents/Directions
Page 5: One open ended game board that can be used to target any skill or in conjunction with any of the activities in this book companion.
Pages 6-11: 27 pairs of present and past tense verb cards coded by balloon color (54 cards total).
Pages 12-14: 27 question cards coded by the balloon color (what, when, where, why, who, how, yes/no).
Page 15: 1 page targeting the concept “as many”.
Page 16: 1 page targeting the concept “same”.
Page 17: 1 page targeting the concept “different”.
Pages 18-20: 1 compare/contrast activity to accompany the same/different concepts. This activity contains 18 stimuli cards with two pictures on each and one compare/contrast activity mat with visual cues.
Pages 21-25: 1 BINGO-type game called “FLOAT” that targets both receptive understanding and expressive use of adjectives. It includes 4 game boards and one set of pictures to “call” the balloons.
Pages 26-28: 2 pronoun activities. One targeting he/she/they, and one activity targets his/hers/theirs. This activity targets pronouns, but can also be used to target adjectives and MLU depending on how you choose to use the materials.
Pages 29-31: 2 following directions activities.
