This activity is the PERFECT hands-on, activity for Earth Day. It provides an amazing visual for kiddos to actively see the process and results of reducing and recycling!
This packet includes:
~A Non-fiction book about Garbage, Landfills and Dumps and what we can do to help
~A sorting activity for kids to sort different household items that they can recycle
~A lift the flap visual that gets kids thinking about how to recycle tires.
~Instructions and response sheet for the experiment. (Now 2 options: edible and non-edible road building instructions)
This experiment involves students having a "tiny landfill" full of tires (a cup full of Cheerios)
~UPDATE-this pack now also includes Construction hats, nametags and signs to help you set the stage and get your little construction workers excited about building their road!!!
Students will reduce their waste by crushing up the Cheerios and then using what's left of the tires and mixing it with other ingredients to make "Concrete" to build a road.
Students actually do and SEE the results of reducing and recycling!
