Product Description
Where Does It Belong? Fiction or Non-Fiction is a
simple compare/contrast activity that I have created
to be used as a content reading activity in my social
studies class. There are 24 classification cards, one
page of cards to distribute to students so that the
teacher can have a formative assessment using
student engagement. There are three title headers for
a flow chart or a Venn Diagram. I have students
complete this activity at the conclusion of a lesson
where students look at samples of fiction and nonfiction
text and brainstorm the characteristics of
each. As I hold up each card, I ask students to respond
as to where they think the card should go using their
individual response cards. We then decide where it
should be placed.
