Review the different types of Figurative Language as you're reading Tim O'Brien's excellent short story about the Vietnam War. This activity starts with a matching exercise; it requires students to match the Figurative Language type to its definition. Then it has 20 examples taken from the text to identify, discuss and review. Lastly, there is one search and find suggestion where students must identify examples of a specific type of figurative language on their own.
This DOES NOT contain a copy of the story. It may be found online at numerous websites through a google search.
This is a 2 page worksheet.
