This engaging, easy-to-play game is perfect for practicing letter names and letter sounds in the pre-k or kindergarten classroom! It can be easily adapted for whole group or small group instruction.
Simply print, laminate, and cut out the alphabet cards, then place them in a pocket chart. Hide Mr. Crayon behind one of the cards and have students take turns guessing which letter he's hiding behind! Depending on your classroom needs, students can either give the letter name or its sound.
Includes both uppercase and lowercase sets.

This activity meets the following Common Core State Standards:
- RF.K.1.D: Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
- RF.K.3.A: Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
- RF.K.3.B: Associate the long and short sounds with the common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
