Locational Concepts become FUN to teach with Murphy the Cat! This lesson is a fun, whimsical way to teach your students positions and locational concepts, and offers both an expressive and receptive way to present them.
We've targeted the following locational concepts: in, on, beside/next to, above, under/below, between, behind, in front of.
HOW TO USE: To elicit receptive responses, simply display the pages with the words, and have your students circle or indicate the correct answer for where Murphy is hiding. To elicit expressive responses, display the pictures with the speech bubble and question mark to tell where Murphy is hiding.
EXTENSION: Have FUN with this! My students absolutely LOVE making up stories about Murphy and his adventures. We have use this lesson over and over again to generate sentences and stories about Murphy and the craziness he might get into.
This lesson was designed to be displayed on a teletherapy or online platform, however, it can display nicely on an iPad or SMART Board. Even a laptop screen. You can always use dry erase markers right on the screen to circle choices :-).
