This is an interactive powerpoint game used to test students' knowledge of world geography. What a fun and engaging way to introduce students to world geography!
How the game works:
Teachers will lead the game and rounds using the powerpoint presentation. I usually split the class into 4 teams. Take turns assigning questions to each team. If the team answers the question correctly, they earn 1 point and it moves on to the next team. If they answer incorrectly, the next team gets a chance to answer the question. Every once in a while, I make the question an "all group" question. This means each group gets a chance to answer the same question. Usually students answer on small whiteboards or a piece of paper that is handed in to the teacher. Group questions are worth 2 points. I also throw in some spelling questions (how to spell continents, countries, etc.)
There are four different rounds in the game:
ROUND 1: NAME THAT CONTINENT - You will be given the name of a country and determine which continent it is located on.
ROUND 2: NAME THAT COUNTRY - You will be given the name of a place (city, landmark, etc.) and determine which country it is located in.
ROUND 3: NAME THAT BODY OF WATER - You will be given a picture and determine which body of water it is showing.
ROUND 4: NAME THAT LANDMARK (CHALLENGE ROUND!!!) - You will be given a picture of a famous landmark and determine the name of the landmark.
