This ongoing project can help students track current events and news "hot spots" around the world with this ongoing, weekly assignment. Students may choose any article from a newspaper, magazine, or reputable website at the discretion of the teacher.
Once students have read their article, they fill out an index card with information about the article and then file the card. Using this filing system (instructions included), students also create a corresponding labeled pin on a world map and then give a brief oral presentation based on their chosen article.
