This book designed by Heather Bates, SLP was created as a way to teach and reinforce basic spatial concepts that are taught as part of the Kindergarten Core Curriculum. The concepts that can be targeted include: on/off, in/out, behind/in front of, over/under, next to/between, and around/through. You can use all of these concepts in your book or only specific ones you are working on. Students must place and glue the pumpkin in the given location on each page. They may color the book when they are finished. For the behind and in pages I like to cut a slit on the page to slide the pumpkin into to make it look like it is behind and in the given items (if you print it single sided you can do this otherwise it is set up so you can print double sided to save paper!). Students will love the adorable graphics by www.mycutegraphics.com and Scrappin Doodles. They will also enjoy being able to “read” the book by stating where the pumpkin is located in each picture.
