The Book, "Where the Children Sleep" (James Mollison) captures the rooms of over 50 children across the world. This reading activity is meant to review the basic vocabulary of a items found in the bedroom as well as introductory Spanish. The handout matches the slides and all titles are in Spanish. This eye-opening and culturally rich lesson has been a favorite in my classes.
Last page includes a drawing and writing activity for students. they follow the model of Maria from Mexico and continue to sketch the layout of their own bedroom. Finally they follow the essential questions (and example of Maria' room) to write a short description of their own bedroom.
(the powerpoint can be purchased for $1.00 if intended for a large class to see the pictures)
