•Students will be able to identify the elements of a folktale within
The Story of Chinaman’s Hat or The Great Race: the story of the Chinese Zodiac, including a personal explanation of the moral of the story (RL. 3.1, RL.3.2, RL.3.3)
•Students will engage in conversation in order to infer the moral of the story based on specific evidence from the text and their schema (SL.3.1).
•Students will respond in writing what they think the lesson in story and how it pertains to their life (W.3.1.)
•Identify new vocabulary words associated to storytelling (L.3.1)
