This packet has been designed specifically to align with CCSS. It is a useful resource for exposing students to PARCC style questioning, such as A/B questions, close reading opportunities, claims, and text analysis. There are activities to identify and practice using figurative language and idioms, define vocabulary words in context, practice using inferences, understanding connotation, comparing and contrasting character traits, summarizing main events,introduction to auto-antonyms, and using text support to support an argument. There are also places for students to draw and caption pictures to summarize main ideas and focus on key events and details. This item assumes that you have read and have a working knowledge of the book, its characters, themes, plot, etc.
