Have you ever received a bill with the words "where'sgeorge.com" imprinted upon it? These bills are part of a voluntary currency tracking project to identify locations where US currency travels.
This lesson is a TERRIFIC lesson for creating an authentic experience that reinforces skills such as location, place, chart reading, latitude/longitude recognition, distance, time, etc.
Each students receives a 'link' or a QR code to a bill that has been tracked and recorded in where'sgeorge.com. They must evaluate the locations that bill has traveled. Questions include: distance traveled, entry location, greatest distance traveled, shortest distance traveled, etc.
Your class can also release bills and register them through Where'sgeorge.com. Step by step instructions are provided.
Makes a great cumulative activity for latitude/longitude units, US geography units and graph/chart/map reading activities.
