This is a fun small group center that helps students learn to recognize the letters of the alphabet. I play this game every month and change it to go along with our theme that month. My student love it! This center went along with our Fairy Tale Unit.
You chose a few letters (usually no more than six) that the students are working on that month. Set the letters out on the table and make sure that the students can name each letter. Then have all the students close their eyes and hide the small picture of Rapunzel underneath one of the castles. Go around the circle and give each student a chance to find Rapunzel. They say the name of a letter and we look underneath that castle. We continue until Rapunzel is found. Then play again as many times as you want.
This game is a huge hit in my classroom, so I'm sure your preschool students would love it!
The set includes three different variations so you can cater the game to meet the needs of your students:
-Castles that have capital and lower-case letters
-Castles that have just capital letters
-Castles that have just lower-case letter
-Blank castles so you can add your own skills if you want
NOTE: This is also available in my "Letter Recognition - Where's the ??? Bundle
