Product Description
This resource is part of a series of vest displays using Picture Communication Symbols (Tobii/Dynavox).

Vest Displays are a great way to add visual and symbol support to simple songs and stories used during Circle Time. A vest display is typically worn on a Velcro-receptive apron or vest and has the advantage of simplifying joint attention by presenting communication content in line with the Facilitator’s face.

The illustrations required for the scene, manipulatives and symbol lines are included in this resource. Another resource called Guidelines for Constructing Vest Displays is also available and provides more in-depth information on vest display construction.

The Where’s Your _____? Vest Display is actually two displays in one!
-Where’s My Egg?
-Where’s My Bone?
This Vest Display is a great activity to work on Core 48 words.
(WHO, WHERE, MY, YOUR, IT)

A target child is seated with their back to the group. A child in the group is encouraged to quietly ‘steal’ the egg.

The target child is then turned to face the group and the chant begins.

Group: Birdie, Birdie, where’s your egg?

Child: Someone stole it from my nest!

Group: Who stole it from your nest?

Child: Was it __________? Named Child: responds with Not me
(child continues to guess until the ‘thief’ is revealed … Yes me!)

Summary ------------------------------------

Group: Who stole it from your nest?

Child: _______ stole it from my nest?

Many thanks to the preschool staff at The Gillen Brewer School in Manhattan for introducing me to this fun activity.
