Create a center in minutes with this unique take on the hypothetical game “Would You Rather.”
After printing, simply cut along the dotted lines at the bottom of each, winter themed, choices document creating strips that can be torn off and selected by either student or teacher.
To increase the rigor of this seemingly straight-forward activity, I have also created companion anchor charts and worksheets. Display these materials next to the choice strips and you will have an area of your classroom dedicated to fostering vocabulary and speaking skills that will become a welcomed diversion for students with a variety of language arts goals.
This is packet includes:
3 pages of winter themed choices that can be cut into strips for selection. Each strips contain 2-4 scenarios for your student’s to choose from.
1 anchor chart providing concrete tips on how to achieve a “Considerate Discussion”
2 vocabulary lists which include commonly used words and idioms that students would greatly benefit in learning while holding the discussions that will relate to their choices
3 worksheets to suit the specific needs of your classroom, turning this simple discussion activity into an opportunity for writing, collaboration, and reflection.
• There is a worksheet dedicated to those students who may have conversational goals that provides a space to write in a reward for a “considerate discussion.”
• There is a worksheet that asks each student to write what their partner picked as a means to encourage listening skills.
• There is a worksheet that provides an organized way to list the pros and cons of each choice helping the student learn decision making skills.
