Product Description
This is a wonderful opening activity to use with your students to get them talking about the different aspects of a fraction. I usually display this on my SMARTBoard and have a class discussion about all the possible answers - remember there is more than one RIGHT answer as long as they can use their reasoning skills to support their answer. While students exercise this important skill, you can assess whether students are able to use the terms numerator, denominator correctly as well as their ability to recognize a whole versus a part.
