Description
This free document is designed to help answer common questions that I receive in reference to the many mentor sentence packs that I have in my store.
Questions answered are:
I’m not sure if I want to “bite the bullet” and buy a bundle right away.
What options do I have?
Why are there three volumes for grades 3-5?
Do I have to do the packs in order? Can I mix and match units between the volumes?
My upper grades students have no grammar background knowledge.
What should I get?
I teach Kindergarten. Should I use early emergent or emergent?
I teach high first graders. Which pack should I get?
How can I integrate content with mentor sentences?
Can I use mentor sentences with author studies?
Mentor sentences are the perfect way to teach grammar and author's craft through examples of excellent sentences from your favorite read-aloud books! This unit is just what you need to get started with mentor sentences in your classroom.
Not familiar with mentor sentences? Read all about them for upper grades here, lower grades here, and Kindergarten and ELL here!

*The mentor sentence lessons I have created are adapted from the ideas of Jeff Anderson. These lessons were born from the routine that worked well in my classroom, and the demos and examples I present are variations of Jeff Anderson's methods. This is not the only way to "do" mentor sentences in your classroom.*
