New 2016 SOL 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade standards!
These cards give students the opportunity to engage in higher order thinking and deep discussion. On each card, there are four pictures. Students decide which one picture does not belong with the rest, (i.e. which picture is the oddball) and justify why they think that picture does not belong. There can be more than one correct answer for each card.
This can be done whole class, as a scoot, as part of a center, or even individually.
There are 16 cards and a recording sheet included. There is an answer sheet based on how I view the cards; again, these may not be the only answers.

- names of polygons with 3-10 sides
- right angles
- parallel lines
