A SUPER LOW PREP center to last the ENTIRE year!
Great for small groups, centers, intervention, fast finishers, and more!
This roll and race game allows students to practice letter ID, uppercase/lowercase differentiation, letter sounds, and letter formation in a fun and engaging format.
Included is one game board for each letter of the alphabet with traceable letters to encourage proper letter formation for beginning writers. There are also corresponding phonetic pictures to strengthen letter/sound connection.
BONUS! Set also includes a b/d page for those students who struggle with reversals.
To play you will need one programmable die. In my classroom, I have used the dry erase cubes from Dollar Tree, small foam cubes (also from Dollar Tree), pocket cubes (Post-it notes work perfectly in these!), or the customizable die available in Smart Notebook. See included image.
On each side of the die, write a capital or lower case version of the focus letter.
Students can work independently, in pairs, or small groups.
Students will take turns rolling the die, naming the letter/sound, then tracing the corresponding letter on their recording sheets.
The first student to reach the top of one of the columns wins!
