My kids love this place value trading game!
The tens frames make it really clear to students when they have 10, and how many more they need before they can trade for a 10's stick! After rolling a dice students place that many one's cubes in the 10's frame boxes and if they have more than 10 they continue to fill the second ten's frame. It makes it obvious how many they have, and they can easily see how many more they need to trade which makes the next roll even more exciting!
At first we played in small groups and took turns playing so I could observe students, and then was I was confident they could play they were able to verse a partner and see who could reach 100 first!
