My students loved doing these activities based on our study of fairy tales (with the focus being on Little Red Riding Hood and the 3 Little Pigs). It was a different way to look at the stories and helped the students explore 1st and 3rd person point of view within a narrative, justifying their opinion, analysing character traits, introduce the concept of a ‘parody’ and record their ideas on a graphic organiser.
This file includes:
• 1 page of extremely detailed step by step instructions for 2 consecutive lessons using the popular books of “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs” by Jon Scieszka and “The Wolf's Story” by Toby Forward.
• 5 pages of printable worksheets that match the lesson plans
Both books are very popular and should be easily found either at your school library or local library.
