This document is several pages. 1 page is dedicated to the accounts of the Patriot Militia/Minutemen, while another is devoted to the accounts of 2 British officers. The students have another sheet where they record a summary of the Militia account and the British account. After the primary source readings, they will read the text book account. This too will be summarized on the answer sheet. To add in some visuals, there are answer sections for you to show the scene of the Battle of Lexington from America the Story of Us, and from the movie April Morning. If you cannot find April Morning, I suggest changing it to Johnny Tremain. If possible, this activity works great in timed stations. To finish it all up, the students have another sheet where they write as if they were there and are testifying about their account of what happened. However, this may be used in multiple ways, including whole group.
