Product Description
The traditional folk song has been extended with an original B section making it a perfect piece for a musical experience or performance. Use the traditional A section to work on playing EGAB on the recorder. The B section (with an original melody and lyrics) was written so my students could continue to practice reading and playing EGAB on the recorder and be immediately successful. It is a perfect addition to your Orff and Kodaly curriculum. Incorporating the optional Orff arrangement allows it to be an excellent performance piece with or without recorders.

The set of Lesson Plans and PowerPoint interactive slides include:

• 9 lessons each 5-12 minutes (7 pdf pages) plus an Orff Orchestration. The lesson plans include detailed instructions for teaching the song, recorder, rhythm, melody, movement, form, round and Orff Orchestration. Extensions and adaptions are also addressed.

• 46 slides created with PowerPoint 2010 (with 39 slides being teacher and/or student interactive) may be used to reinforce recorder playing, melodic reading and aurally identifying melodic patterns. You will have everything you need to teach all the lessons. The PowerPoint works very well with Smartboards - just touch the board to activate the sound effects and the animations.

It is a perfect piece to address curricular concepts while enjoying making music. It is also a great spiraling activity. Teach “Who Has Seen the Wind” to your first year recorder players and bring it back the following year adding the B section. Or just use the lesson and ear training slides to teach the song “Who Has Seen the Wind” (La, Do Re Mi).

The product was created to be compatible for Mac users. However, please download the preview as a test prior to purchasing!
