I have bathroom pass phobia. They take it WHERE with them? How do I know for sure that they washed their hands? Where do they put it when they are using the restroom? I just can't allow my mind to go there... So I made this alternative!!! These little signs are put on my classroom whiteboard (with little sticky magnets on the back) and the students get to write their name under GIRLS or BOYS when it is their turn to use the restroom. In my classroom, only one girl or boy is allowed to use the restroom at a time - so if they see someone else's name written, the student's know they can't ask me for permission. Plus, it serves as a quick reminder for forgetful me as to who is out of the room at any given moment. AND the kids LOVE to have the special privilege of writing their name on the whiteboard. You would think that this would reinforce them wanting to use the restroom more often, but, the exact opposite has happened in my classroom this year! Because it takes just a little bit more time for them to write their name out vs. just simply walking out of the classroom - more students are just waiting until recess or whenever instead. I am loving it!!! If you are looking for some classroom management ideas on bathroom visits - this product may be for you! For more classroom management ideas, check out my TPT store!
