Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to assess your students' mastery of ratios, proportions and direct variation? You've found it!
This task presents the students with the running speeds of four different T-Rexes in VERY different units (makes for a great hook!) and asks for them to determine which dinosaur is the fastest.
Along the way, students are asked to write ratios, convert to unit rates, use ratios to convert measurements, write and solve proportions, complete t-tables, write and graph direct variation equations AND analyze the data!
This can be used as a summative task at the end of a unit or as an organizing task throughout the unit.
