Product Description
A short two page expository reading explaining who the Pilgrims were. Specifically, this reading explains the religious philosophy of the Pilgrims as Puritans who wanted to rid the Anglican Church of its Catholic remnants. Reading also explains the Puritan beliefs in Original Sin and the Salvation of the Elect. These were ideas first espoused I believe by John Calvin.

The reading explains as clearly as possible how the Pilgrims religious beliefs made the Pilgrims the devout, strict, moral, hard working people that they were. The reading ends with the Pilgrims barely surviving their first winter in the New World. In my classes, I move to the story of Squanto or Tisquantum. Thank you.
