This packet is great to use with a nonfiction guided reading group or if you're working with a student needing extra comprehension practice. It breaks down the book Who is Jane Goodall into chapters and includes comprehension questions and higher order thinking questions. Graphic organizers are included such as a Venn diagram, boxes and bullets (to identify main idea), and a chart to list the positive events vs. the negative events that happened in a chapter. In addition, the packet includes a section on identifying interesting vs. important facts, and finding solutions to given problems in a chapter. Finally, each section includes Questions for Discussion in which the students must think about the answers they will give in a group discussion. Two links to videos are included so that the students can view them and discuss how the information fits in with what they already know about Jane Goodall by reading the book. This will be a great guide for your nonfiction reading instruction!
