How to play...

Choose one player to go first by picking a name out of a hat or by asking for volunteers. The first student contestant will answer a series of questions and will have three available “lifelines” for more difficult questions, (each lifeline can only be used once per round).

"50:50" – Two of the possible answers will be eliminated leaving a 50:50 chance that the student contestant will answer the question correctly.

“ASK THE CLASS” – The student contestant may ask the rest of the class to “suggest” out loud the answer that they think is correct, helping the contestant make a better choice based on the consensus of the class.

“PHONE-A-FRIEND” – The student contestant may ask one friend from the class to suggest which answer he or she thinks is the correct answer. The contestant can then use the recommended answer from the friend or stick with his or her own best answer.

The student will attempt to answer 8 questions correctly using lifelines when necessary. If the student contestant answers a question wrong, he or she is eliminated and another student contestant is chosen. (IMPORTANT: You will need to keep track of how many questions have been answered correctly as you go.)

If a student gets to 8 questions without making a mistake, he or she wins the round. Give him or her a small prize. Continue playing until everyone has a turn that wants a turn.

TEACHER TIP! Keep track of the round 1 winners and have a play-off game until you have a grand prize winner or “MILLIONAIRE.” Give this student a grand prize. Suggested grand prize: $1 gold coin or a $1 bill.
