Who'd You Rather Meet contains 40 kid-friendly task cards that promote discussion and writing based on your students' favorite reading and movie characters. Similar to the What Would You Rather, Who'd You Rather asks students to select from characters pulled from popular children's books. The cards can be used during morning meeting to encourage discussion and promote a healthy, positive climate in your classroom. Or, they can be used during ELA or library for writing - and a student writing template is included. A character trait handout is also included for students to use to boost vocabulary enrichment. Students can use their trait list, and create their own using a blank trait bank. I usually save this activity for Read Across America Week - and it is definitely a class favorite! Ideas on how to use the cards are included.
Whether you use it as a morning meeting exercise or in ELA, your students will be engaged and excited! Reading is the key to success, and Who'd You Rather Meet? gives you another fun activity you can bring in to your classroom to promote the importance of reading.
