Are your students visual learners that would benefit from reminders to use active listening skills? If so this resource is perfect for you! Inspired by Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Curriculum this resource reminds students to use their "whole body listening skills."
2 Whole Body Listening Posters (8.5 x 11'')
The whole body listening approach is a direct way to teach active listening skills to children. This approach defines and reminds students to listen with their entire body, not just their ears!
Eyes- looks at the person who is speaking
Ears- listens to what that person is saying
Brain- thinks about that that person is saying
Mouth- close and quiet until it is his/her turn to be the speaker
Hands- still and quiet
Legs- still and quiet (often means crisscross applesauce)
Shoulders- facing the speaker
Heart- caring about what the person is saying, showing interest through body language, comments and questions
Remind your students to listen with their eyes, ears, mouth, hands, feet, shoulders, heart and brain with this eye-catching resource!
Don’t forget to share with parents and other professionals. This resource can be effectively used in a variety of home and school environments.
