One lesson plan meeting the needs of ALL of your groups:
AAC, low verbal, social, wh-questions, sequencing, requesting, and articulation!
I started doing fun "cooking to learn" type activities with my AAC and low verbal groups. The kids loved it, but it was a lot of set-up and clean-up for 1-2 groups during the day. So, I created these plans in order to use the same activity for ALL of my groups. I realized that it ended up saving me a lot of time and it really helps with generalization. Plus, you can have large groups of students working on all different types of goals!
I do this about once per month. It also works great for a 3:1 model, where you can see all students in one day and reserve the rest of the week for indirect services. Students will then look forward to the indirect week!!! On the activity day, I change my schedule around a bit and see all of my students in one day, split up by grade level. Each student does the appropriate activity and brings the sheet home to encourage generalization. Everyone loves this type of activity! I will be posting more of these as I edit them.
