This document includes a 22 question review about matter (properties, measuring, mixtures, etc...) a 32 questions test, and a vocabulary sheet for students to fill in before the chapter or after the chapter as a review.
This assessment has multiple ways for students to answer: matching, fill in the blank with provided word bank, choose P or C for physical or chemical change, short answer, and a measuring/lab question that requires the student to actually show they can physical find a certain measurement of mass and us correct units (mass, volume, density)
Reviews are a great way to integrate learning and FUN! I've used these games in the past:
- basketball review (if you get the question correct your team gets a chance to shoot)
- Connect 4 (if you answer the question correctly your team gets to place a sticky note on the graph - usually 5 x6 depending on how many teams you have - and the goal is to connect 4 before any of the other teams)
- Grudge Ball (each team is given 10 x's on the board. Once a team answers correctly they get a chance to shoot, if they make it they may erase 2 x's from the board, if they miss they may only erase 1 x. The team with the most x's at the end of the game wins. If a team looses all 10 x's they have to make a shoot in order to gain 2 x's to be back in the game)
