Target inferencing and critical thinking skills with this fun, motivating inference activity! Use the iPhone visual supports to guess who is calling! Get creative and also use for categories, pronouns, expanding MLU, and WH questions.
Black & white version included for an ink saving option.

Directions
Cut out the phones and laminate if desired for durability.

Select the Picture: Give your student a field of phone pictures to choose from. Read a phone call card and have them select the correct picture of who called.

Matching Game: Select a number of pairs to play with. Lay the cards face down with the various picture cards grouped and the phone call cards grouped together. With each turn, select one picture card and one call card trying to find a match (the call made from the individual). Continue taking turns until all cards are matched. The player with the most matches wins.

Auditory: Test auditory listening and inferencing skills without visual aids by only using the phone call cards.

Role Play: Target conversation and appropriate topics by having the student select a picture card and begin an appropriate conversation as if they are that individual. Or make it a higher-functioning task, in which you or another student doesn’t know the character they picked and must guess who they are from the conversation they start.
