As an SLP, you probably encounter this question quite often. You now have an answer, but in mini-book format! Use these mini-books when you first start seeing a child or even when you are experiencing resistance about attending speech therapy sessions. There are several different versions included, depending on the reason you see the child. If you see the child for multiple reasons, choose one or all of the books. These are designed for K-5th grade. The language used is simplistic, but not overly childish. There are two versions of the “language” and the “social skills” mini-books (one that you pick which skills you’re working on and one that you can fill in with details specific to a child). Print the desired mini-book and go! They are in black and white so the child can color the pages while you discuss the book. These books are designed to be open ended so that you can have your students draw or write in what you think is important.

-Articulation (pg. 3-6)
-Language (pg. 7-14 Version 1 – choose the pages that best suit your student, pg. 15-18 Version 2 – print and fill in as many pg. 16 needed)
-Fluency (pg. 19-23)
-Voice: specifically vocal nodules (pg. 24-28)
-Social Skills (pg. 29-34 Version 1 – choose the pages that best suit your student, pg. 35-37 – print and fill in as many pg. 36 needed)
