I wanted my students to reflect on why they write. Are they practicing being a storyteller? This is a biggie in my classroom? Or are they sharing their experience? During our writing workshop, I always choose three students to share their work at the end of the period. After they have shared, they use a vis-a-vis marker to color in their reason for writing the piece on this laminated printable that I hang on the wall.
