Product Description

The bark of the BIRCH TREE is a very important and valuable resource for many Native American Nations. The book, Birch Bark House by Louise Erdrich, describes in great detail how birch tree bark was used by woodland tribes. This lesson packet will demonstrate how to create a realistic looking birch bark. Your students can use their faux birch bark to create a realistic model wigwam. Have your students create a collaborative village, or individual works of art! This lesson is easy to adapt to higher grade levels and homeschool. Included are basic instructions. Have fun!
