Activities involve little to no prep, will keep students engaged for a long period of time and include higher-level thinking activities! You can use them whole group or in stations!
Create Your Own Zoo- Make a map, promote it and reflect upon what you created. This project is sure to take a while- maybe even a couple of days.
Write a letter to community leaders persuading them to let you release the zoo animals.
Make a Comic Strip using animals as characters. The comic strip must include a story with a beginning, middle and end. A recording sheet is included to tell about the story.
Write Thank You cards to parent volunteers and staff who helped your class this year.
Write a letter to next year's class with advice.
Make a brochure all about your second grade year. Recording sheets are included with fill in the blank questions about the school year. This will be a second grade keepsake for sure!
