Product Description
This differentiated activity will get your kinesthic learners up and moving while addressing the readiness levels of your various learners. This activity addresses common core standards:
CCSS RF.K.1.d-Recognize and name all upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
RF.K.3.a-Demonstrate basic knowledge of letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary or most frequent sound for each consonant.

Teachers, this activity is a nice introduction to "writing the room" activities for your students. Students will use a clipboard as they travel around your room searching for 'hidden' write the room cards. When they find one, they will use their response cards to record what they find. There are several different response cards for you to provide to your students depending on their readiness. Some kindergarten students may come to you with very little letter recognition. It will best to start them with the process of finding letters in their name, identifying capital, letters or letters they know. For students recognize their letters and progressing to letter sounds, you can have them choose the letter that reflects the beginning or ending sounds. You may have three or four students of varying degrees of readiness, all writing the room at the same time using a recording sheet that is appropriate for their readiness level. This will allow you to group students together and NOT have to depend on readiness as the criteria for grouping.
