This is a method created for students to best learn sight words. If you follow these 16 steps each day, then students will learn and retain these 107+ ZENO words that are most commonly found in text. You should focus on one word per day. The steps are as follows: see the word, say the word, spell the word, visualize the word, cover the word, verbally spell the word, check, spell the word, cover the word, write the word, check, cut, mix, and manipulate letters to spell words, find the word in text, dictate the word, and check. I have added a small box behind each step for the student to check once it is completed. Also included is a chart of the steps that you can place in your classroom to refer to.
You will also find a chart that can be hung in your room to refer to while using the 16 steps. At the end of each week, there is a color by sight word chart for those five words. There is also a blank one that you can add the words so that you can use the words in any order that you need.
There is a hand at the end of the packet with the word in the middle is to put by your door and have the student slap the hand and read the word as they enter or exit the room.
There are over 140 sight words to study within a school year in this Wild Word of the Day packet!
