Description: Students will predict if objects will sink or float, then calculate their densities to analyze for trends in their values as compared to the results of the sink-float test.
California State Standard(s): SC.8.8.a. Students know density is mass per unit volume. SC.8.8.b. Students know how to calculate the density of substances (regular and irregular solids and liquids) from measurements of mass and volume. SC.8.8.d. Students know how to predict whether an object will float or sink.
