AUTHENTIC PRIMARY SOURCE DOCUMENT!
This is one page of a multipage Will and Testament of a slave owner that resided in Forsyth, Georgia. During the year of 1859, Thomas Mann becomes ill and composes a Will and Testament that gives details about the breakdown of his 100 Acre estate, personal property, and SLAVES. This document can be used to teach students about DBQ strategies, Slavery in America, or just to facilitate an in depth discussion about the differences between chattel slavery and other forms of slavery in the Ancient world.
If you are interested in the Inventory list which lists the names of his slaves, simply email me and I will post that page for a very cheap price. I am a descendant of Monroe Mann, who was owned by Thomas Monroe Mann.
