Product Description
Students will be introduced to the life and poetry of William Blake on the first day as they read selected a short biography and poems. They will also create a piece of original art inspired by one of his works. On the second day, students will work in pairs to discuss poems and break them down through a series of “task-tivities.” This is intended to engage students at a greater depth than just another worksheet, so the questions focus on areas of higher-level thinking such as comparing themes, analyzing sequencing, discussing symbolism, and making connections on social commentary rather than poetry basics like figurative language.

This resource includes:
• A suggested use page
• CCSS alignment
• A biography of William Blake
• 7 selected poems by Blake
• A 3-page “task-tivities” packet
• A teacher key for the packet
• A PowerPoint with Bell Work Instructions for each day
