Shakespeare's great comedy, Twelfth Night, comes alive in this unit of study. Students will examine the ways in which Shakespeare presents complicated characters, confusing love triangles, and hilarious situations. This unit also gives students the opportunity to tackle difficult subjects raised by the play: gender and identity, archetypes and their power, truth, and deception, etc.
When you purchase this unit, you will receive a zipped folder that contains a separate folder for each day. Those Day One, Day Two, Day Three, etc. folders will contain a flawlessly designed Powerpoint that will take you through each portion of the lesson and the necessary worksheets for the day.
In addition, I have included a four-page document that gives you an overview of the unit and walks you through each lesson.
As for the design of the lesson, I believe in teaching books in their totality as opposed to chunking them one section at a time. It's difficult for students to properly analyze a text if they haven't read the entire thing yet. This unit is designed for students to read the text 1-2 weeks ahead of time before they begin the unit. To help facilitate this, I have included a helpful calendar, a reading schedule, reading checks for each section, and an answer key for each reading check.
