A story from the Harcourt Trophies 2nd grade reading book. This unit has been designed to challenge students with moderate/severe disabilites.
For the Vocabulary Section - Read the sentence twice emphasing the underlined word. Flip page - read the sentence twice (do not say 'blank') ask what goes here? Read the words at the bottom of the page - tell the student to touch the answer. Over time the student should be able to chose the word when asked with no other prompting.
Comprehension Section - Read the sentence, then read the choices, ask the student to touch their choice.
Answers can be printed on cardstock for students who need to touch or pick up in order to participate.
