This packet contains fun, engaging winter activities that may be used to help early childhood and kindergarten students practice using pronouns (he, she, they), verbs (snowboarding, sliding, skiing, skating, play hockey, snowboarding, snowmobiling) and basic concepts (top, bottom, between, on, beside, in, middle, big, little, near, far, up, down, in front, in back, behind, above, below), as well as vocabulary to participate in winter activities (jackets, snow pants, boots, stocking hats, headbands, hoods, mittens, scarfs, skates, sleds, ski boots, skis, ski poles, snowboards, snow shoes, ski hill, ice skating rink, etc.).
Suggested Activities - No Print or Copy and Laminate
Ask the question, “What is happening?” If needed, model the correct sentence. Point to the cue shapes at the bottom of the page while modeling the sentence to help elicit sentence structures.
Ask the question, "Where is the dog?" Talk about where the dog is using the targeted concepts.
Talk about the clothing, equipment, weather needed to participate in the winter activities.
Token Boards – (pages 25-26) – Practice targeted skills. Use magnetic tokens or other objects as rewards. Print and use bingo dot markers for reward.
