### Description

This resource provides fun and engaging snow globe themed winter math centers for your little learners to practice addition facts to 10. This packet has 5 sets of Snowflake Dice Add the Room cards. Each set has 12 cards. There is a recording page for each set of cards. The cards and recording sheets have matching graphics. The images include a moose, a husky puppy, a bear, a snowman, snow covered evergreen trees, and log cabins. These activities work well with winter, snowman, snow globe, snowflake, and lodge themes.

Print, laminate, and cut out the equation cards. Make copies of the recording pages.

Hang the cards in places all around the room. Give each student a clipboard, pencil, and recording page. Learners search the room for cards with dice graphics. When they find a card, they write the equation and sum represented by the number of dots on the dice in the correct space on the recording sheet.

For example, if a card has a die on the left side with 5 snowflakes and a die on the right side with 2 snowflakes, learners write 5 + 2 = 7 in the correct space on the recording sheet.

These activities help learners develop addition fluency and support the Math Common Core Standards for Operations and Algebraic Thinking.

Thank you for looking at this resource. I hope you and your learners enjoy these activities.

Determine the unknown whole number in an addition or subtraction equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 + ? = 11, 5 = ▯ - 3, 6 + 6 = ▯.
Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. For example, which of the following equations are true and which are false? 6 = 6, 7 = 8 - 1, 5 + 2 = 2 + 5, 4 + 1 = 5 + 2.
Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem.
Represent addition and subtraction with objects, fingers, mental images, drawings, sounds (e.g., claps), acting out situations, verbal explanations, expressions, or equations.
