Winter Alphabet Games features three printable games for preschool and kindergarten students who are working on letter recognition. These literacy activities are great for doing an uppercase and lowercase assessment of your students while they play the game and have fun. Winter Alphabet Games can be played during small groups at the teacher table, in centers, and for free choice time.
Winter Alphabet Games includes these three activities:
- COVER IT UP GAME – Print the color game cards and use buttons or tokens to cover the letters OR you can print the ink-saving, black & white cards and have students use a dot marker to play! Gameboards for uppercase and lowercase letters.
- MELT THE SNOWMAN CARD GAME– This fast-paced game helps students identify uppercase and lowercase letters. Collect the most letters but try not to pick the sunny Melt the Snowman card or you'll lose all your cards! Card games are such a great activity to do in preschool or kindergarten because they teach youngsters how to take turns and encourage good sportsmanship.
- I HAVE, WHO HAS GAME – Your students will be thrilled they can “read” the predictable text in this alphabet game! I Have, Who Has game cards for both uppercase and lowercase letters are included. Ideal for small groups to play but a great transition activity for the whole class, too.
